CALL FOR ART: Printmakers & T-shirt Designers (two unique shows)

 
The Mosesian Center for the Arts invites artists to submit original hand printed work to “Big Print/Little Print” and “Uniform”, a screen print T-shirt Show and Pop-up Shop. This pair of shows will provide a diverse look at all forms of hand printing – BIG and small, esoteric to accessible – including but not limited to screen print, mono print, letterpress, woodcut, linocut, etching and stamped/stenciled work.
 

Big Print/Little Print – A Show of Epic Proportions

“Big Print” work must be two feet by two feet or larger. Framed and unframed pieces accepted. “Little Print” work must be 12 inches by 12 inches or smaller and must be framed and ready to hang (no saw tooth hangers please).
 

Uniform – A Screen Print T-Shirt Show and Pop-up Shop

 “Uniform” explores the rise of the t-shirt as a modern day uniform for young and old alike. Selected t-shirt designs will be on display in the gallery and artists will have the option to provide up to 25 shirts of varying sizes in the same color of their selected design to sell in our pop-up t-shirt shop.

Public Opening Reception: 3/23/2017 
Show Closes: 4/21/2017

Please note that we reserve the right to make minor adjustments to the exhibit timeline. Artists will be notified of final dates in their acceptance letters.

Eligibility:

Artists regardless of location are welcome to apply, including international artists. Local artists will be provided drop off time and date details upon acceptance. Non-local selected artists work must be received at the Mosesian Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472 c/o exhibitions by March 6, 2017. Non-local artists are responsible for shipping costs both to and from the MCA and are responsible for insuring their work while in transit. If shipping work, each artist must provide a pre-paid, UPS or FedEx return shipping label including insurance. Please pack your work in sturdy reusable packaging. The Mosesian Center for the Arts carries appropriate insurance to cover all artwork in the show for the duration of the exhibition, including the time frame of drop-off, installation, de-installation and pick-up.
 

Submission Fee:

$10 per submission. Limit 10 submissions per artist. To apply simply click on the "Register" button in the top right corner of the page and then follow the steps outlined. You'll be able to save and update your application until the submission deadline on February 13, 2017. We recommend applying early in case you have any questions during the process. 


Commission Structure:

Artists receive 60% commission and the Mosesian Center for the Arts receives 40% for art sold during the exhibition. The Artist reserves all copyrights and reproduction rights on the artwork in the exhibition. Mosesian Center for the Arts may duplicate and reproduce images of work for purposes of public relations and exhibition announcements directly related to the exhibition.
